Who we are, and why this site exists.
Wegovy Guide is an independent editorial project about semaglutide for weight management. Not owned by a pharmacy, not affiliated with Novo Nordisk, not a substitute for medical advice — but written with the care we wish someone had shown us when we first researched these medications.
Our editorial principles
We write about Wegovy the way a thoughtful journalist would write about any consumer health topic: with respect for the science, skepticism toward marketing claims, and a commitment to plain-language translation of medical concepts.
- Primary sources first. Every medical claim on this site is traceable to an FDA-approved prescribing document, a peer-reviewed clinical trial, or official manufacturer documentation. Where we cite statistics, we link to or name the source.
- No invented outcomes. We don't fabricate patient stories, before-and-after photos, or testimonials. Real results come from real clinical trials, and those trials are what we cite.
- Honest about risks. Weight loss medications are not magic and not risk-free. We cover every documented side effect, not just the pleasant ones, and we never tell someone Wegovy is right for them — only their doctor can.
- Updated when facts change. FDA indications, pricing, and clinical evidence change. We date every page with its last editorial review and update when material information changes.
- Plain language without dumbing down. Medical terms are used where they matter, but always translated inline. Nobody should need a medical degree to understand their own treatment.
How the site is funded
This site is free for readers. It is supported by affiliate relationships with licensed US telehealth providers — when a reader clicks a link on this site and ultimately becomes a patient of one of those providers, we may receive a referral fee. This is disclosed at the bottom of every page and in our medical disclaimer.
Affiliate funding lets us keep the site free and ad-light, but it also creates a potential conflict of interest. We manage that by:
- Writing content based on what the keyword research shows readers actually want to know — not based on what the affiliate would most like us to promote.
- Presenting all legitimate access options for Wegovy, including Novo Nordisk's own direct-to-consumer program, traditional retail pharmacies, and insurance-based coverage — even when those are better deals than our affiliate.
- Refusing to fabricate or exaggerate any clinical claim in service of conversion.
Sources we reference regularly
- The Wegovy prescribing information (FDA-approved label) from Novo Nordisk
- Published STEP clinical trial results (STEP 1, STEP 3, STEP 4, STEP 5, STEP 8, SELECT)
- FDA press announcements and drug approval documents
- The Novo Nordisk US corporate site and NovoCare program documentation
- Peer-reviewed journals: NEJM, JAMA, The Lancet, Diabetes Care, Obesity
- CMS coverage rules for Medicare and Medicaid
What we are not
We are not a pharmacy. We do not sell medications. We are not a medical practice and we do not employ doctors. We do not collect personal health information. We do not replace your doctor and nothing on this site is a substitute for the advice of a qualified healthcare provider.
Contact & corrections
If you find a factual error on this site, or want to suggest a topic we should cover, we want to hear about it. Corrections are the fastest way a publication earns trust and we take them seriously.
